Thank You!

This is a special "thank you" to @technolit and the other six educators from the Thames Valley District School Board that came to visit our classroom yesterday. My students enjoyed sharing with you what they do and how they use technology in the classroom. They loved how you photographed their work and recorded their thoughts on using technology to help them learn. You really made their opinions matter ... thank you!

At the second nutrition break, one student whispered to another one, "I'm going to be famous! One of those visitors recorded what I said, and he's going to put the recording on his website too. Isn't that cool?" Wow! This student went home last night so proud of his accomplishments, and that is all thanks to you.

When the children wrote their Friday Journals in the afternoon, I told them that it could be a "free write" week. Three of the students chose to write about your visit, and I recorded their readings (posted below). Imagine the impact that you had on them, if when given the choice to write on any topic, they chose your visit as their favourite one. Many thanks for such a memorable day!

Wow! What a special tribute! I am thrilled to hear that our visit meant as much to your students as it did to us. You are truly an inspiration to 21st Century teaching, Aviva.

I love these videos! Your students were such keen and engaged learners . . . what a pleasure to meet them!

I have convinced a few TVDSB teachers to join Twitter. Although I did give some suggestions on who they might enjoy following, I have no idea if they did. You were certainly one on my list! I was reading a post yesterday on a conference I manage on FirstClass about Web 2.0 tools. In it, the teacher mentioned wishing she could go visit an amazing grade 1 teacher in Ancaster (she had no idea we had just gone)!

I hope you know how far around the world you reach and how much you are valued.

Thank YOU and YOUR KIDS for a truly wonderful morning.

Hugs to your students!

Wow! Thank you so much, Sandra! Your comment just made my day. I will definitely be sharing your kind words with my students tomorrow too.

Thank you for all that you have taught me through Twitter too. I love having you as part of my PLN, and I have definitely learned a lot from you. You inspire me to continually try new things with my students.

Many, many thanks!

As someone who creates and attends PD opportunities, I would like to thank you all so much for your willingness to share your classroom with me. I was incredibly impressed by the knowledge of everyone in the room. To observe students enjoying their learning, embracing the technology, and demonstrating personal responsibility was fantastic. Your class is certainly special!!! Love your videos. Thank you, again. Brad TVDSB
